January Makeup Haul

Every year CVS has a big makeup sale, 50-75% off items that have been discontinued, have redesigned packages or have just been sitting on the shelf too long.  RiteAid and Walgreens also clearance many of the same items, but not nearly as many.  Needless to say, I LOVE this time of year - I can stock up on tons of makeup so I don't have to worry about waiting for a sale.

This year I got a ton of L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duos.  Many makeup pros will tell you to stay away from drugstore eyeshadows as they are not as pigmented or lasting as Mac or Tarte or other high-end cosmetics, but I think HIP is one of the few exceptions to this rule.  I'm planning to do a review of the HIP duos in the near future and I will go into more detail then about why I like these.  The HIP were on sale for $1.99 ($2.19 at my other store...we have 2 CVS's in town) and there are currently $2/1 L'Oreal Paris Eye coupons out there so FREE (or nearly, depending on the store).  I used the same coupons to get the HIP pigments, though they were a little more expensive so I spent about $1 each on those.

The Cover Girl Amazement Lip Glosses were purchased at RiteAid, where they were clearanced to $1.49 each...with the $2.50/2 Cover Girl coupons they ended up being $0.24 each.
